About the event

A panoramic hike starting from the Barrage d'Emosson parking area. This impressive dam, inaugurated in 1976, holds Switzerland’s second-largest reservoir by capacity.

We'll begin with a 2km walk along the dam before a gradual ascent toward the Cabane du Vieux Emosson, where we'll take a break and enjoy a snack. From there, we’ll venture deeper into the mountains, reaching the second dam: Lac du Vieux Emosson.

If the snow has melted by then, we may extend the hike to visit a fossil site, home to 240-million-year-old reptile footprints.

The route then follows the lake, crossing a crest before descending through the Gorge de la Veudale—often considered the most challenging section, especially if snow remains on the trail.
