About the event
We will meet at the top of the train line at Col de Bretaye. From there we will walk along an easy path towards the Col de La Croix. We will stop for picnic by the gypsum pyramids where we will gather the energy required to approach the hardest part of the hike: here we'll face more steep hills and potentially wet meadows. The effort will be paid off with a drink and snack by the Lac des Chavonnes. From there to the train station it will take an additional 40min of soft uphill among forest and traditional alpine chalets.
Length: 11km
Hours: 4h30 of active walking, plus approx. 1h30min of breaks and picnic
Elevation: +/- 500m (it'll make a non-mountain person sweat)
Difficulty: Easy for a mountain hike, but this is not a balade. Be ready to keep a steady pace
